2018 DAYL Charity Ball is a Sapphire Success

2018 DAYL Charity Ball is a Sapphire Success

The Fifth Annual DAYL Charity Ball was a roaring success! Thank you to all of our amazing sponsors, auction donors, and guests who came out and supported this year’s event.  This past October, the DAYL Charity Ball celebrated its fifth year with several records broken and exciting new announcements.  We raised the highest amount of sponsorship funds since the inaugural year in 2014, we had a record number of guests attend the ball since the inaugural year, we had a dozen live auction winners (who will be vacationing in Mexico, Napa, and NYC), we broke the record for silent auction sales, we had a packed dance floor close the party down, we had Dwayne Lewis in a hotdog costume, and we announced a major name change to the event!

This is the third year that all funds raised at the DAYL Charity Ball benefit the DAYL Foundation. Since 1999, the DAYL Foundation has given over $250,000 to local non-profit organizations that support legal education and causes.  This year, the DAYL Foundation awarded over $30,000.00 in grants.  Before 2016, the Foundation relied only on donations from its Fellows to fund its charitable endeavors. Now that the DAYL Charity Ball benefits the DAYL Foundation, the DAYL Foundation can provide even greater financial support to deserving non-profit organizations in our community.

As many of you know, just weeks before the 2017 DAYL Charity Ball, we tragically lost a dear friend, loved one, and unforgettable shooting star, Alexander “Alex” Wade Bolton. Alex’s greatest passion in DAYL was the DAYL Charity Ball, and he served as its Event Chair in 2016 and 2017. At the beginning of this year, the DAYL Charity Ball Committee set out to find a way to honor Alex’s legacy to last a lifetime.  At this year’s DAYL Charity Ball, we were ecstatic and thrilled to announce that the DAYL Charity Ball will now be known as the DAYL Bolton Ball!

Cheers to the newly renamed DAYL Bolton Ball!

Watch for an exciting announcement in January of 2019 for the total funds raised at this year’s ball and the save-the-date for the 2019 DAYL Bolton Ball!
